Agni is sanskrit for fire. Padma Menon's production of Agni depicts fire as energy and passion. Agni also celebrates fire as ritual, a tribute to the Indian god of fire who is the medium of all offerings to the gods. It is inspired by the heroic and colorful men and women, costumes, music and stories of the Indian desert state of Rajasthan. Agni is an example of Padma Menon's exciting modern, cross-cultural work.
