QuestFest 2006

Fall Festival, October 2005 & 2006
Kalanidhi dancers collaborated with Dakshina/Daniel Phoenix Singh & Company and participated in two day festivals. One of these festivals featured renowned international choreographers and dancers such as Sri and Srimathi Dhananjayan and Dr. Mallika Sarabhai from India.

QuestFest 2006, January 2006
QuestFest 2006, was a two-week festival celebrating visual theatre. The community-wide festival featured 11 internationally acclaimed theatre companies and artists in over 40 performances. Kalanidhi dancers, Silpa Thotakura and Smitha Viswanathan, worked with Quest Productions, a non-profit arts organization internationally recognized for its innovative work in visual theatre, to create and perform Rivers. A graceful and touching work, Rivers blends classical Indian dance and gesture with modern dance and American Sign Language. The show explores the relationship between Amir Khusrau, one of India’s great poets, and his creative muses. Rivers featured Quest Affiliate Artist Astad Deboo, world-renowned master of Indian modern dance.
