Davvula Virahamopa with Dr. Anupama Kylash focuses on abhinaya and extempore Improvisation.

Explore the intricacies of abhinaya through three analytic frameworks:

The Theatrical/Narrative method (dramatic storytelling); the Literary/Poetic method (expansion through simile, metaphor, analogy, and paradox); and the Affective method (deep, nuanced human emotions).

Dr. Anupama Kylash integrates these approaches to craft layered interpretations of text and subtext. She will also sing and provide practice recordings for all participants.


About Dr. Anupama Kylash:

Dr. Anupama Kylash is a senior Kuchipudi practitioner-scholar (PhD, University of Hyderabad) with 1,000+ performances/lecture-demos across 10 countries and 60+ papers/workshops. Author of two books on Annamacharya and Kshetrayya, she founded the Anubhav Centre and is Professor of Kuchipudi at the University of Silicon Andhra; she also advises RASARISHI.
