RESONANCE

Join Kalanidhi Dance for Resonance: Celebrating Kuchipudi’s Choreographic Voices, an evening of dance showcasing choreographers who are carrying forward the Kuchipudi tradition in innovative and imaginative ways.  We present seven choreographers who have taken the versatile technique of Kuchipudi in ancient and new directions. We are particularly excited to present Anupama Kylash from India who is renowned for her extempore interpretation of abhinaya (expressive dance) as the featured artist for the evening. The concept was created by our Founding Artistic Director Anuradha Nehru.

Ticketing language:

In a spirit of transparency Kalanidhi would like to share this information with you. We are bringing together 7 choreographers, more than 15 dancers, and costume/lighting designers all committing to hundreds of hours of rehearsal for this show. The cost of this project, which is $22,050, and divided by the number of seats in the theater, which is 275, comes to $80 per seat for us to break even. A $35 dollar ticket is 56% subsidized by Kalanidhi. A $80 ticket would help us break even, and a $150 ticket purchase helps us subsidize those who need to purchase a $35 ticket. We encourage all patrons to buy tickets at the level you feel comfortable in supporting our labor as artists.

Following the performance, we invite you to stay for a Q&A session with the choreographers, moderated by Dr. Anitha Vallabh, for a lively exchange of ideas and insights into their creative journeys.
